Psychometric Research and Development and SHL/PreVisor settle legal dispute

London; November 16, 2011: A lengthy dispute that led to recent legal action between Dr Steve Blinkhorn, managing director of Psychometric Research and Development Ltd. (PRD), and the international SHL/PreVisor corporation, has reached an out-of-court settlement.

For existing and prospective customers the outcome means that from January 2012, both the online and print versions of the GMA and MOST series of psychometric tests, written and developed by Dr Blinkhorn, will now be published exclusively by and be available direct from PRD, a UK-based consultancy specialising in advanced employment assessment and human resource management methods.

Further, the agreement permits that print versions of the GMA and MOST series of psychometric tests will also be available through global provider of pre-employment screening, assessment and online personality testing products and services, SHL/Previsor.  Both companies have ensured that from January 2012 respective supplies of the online and print versions of the products will be readily available to existing and prospective customers.

"The dispute concerned the interpretation of the original publishing agreement, electronic rights in the tests and the timely payment of royalties. It came to a head when Granada Learning Ltd., sold its interest in the tests along with its ASE division to Previsor Inc., in 2008. Previsor Inc., merged with SHL in 2011. We are pleased to have come to an arrangement which secures the long-term future of these classic and popular tests, in both forms," says Dr Steve Blinkhorn of PRD.

Paul Levett, Chief Product Officer at SHL, says: "The litigation arose as a product of history and came to be with SHL through a merger of companies earlier this year. The parties agreed it felt like the right time to return control of the popular GMA and MOST products to Dr Blinkhorn. We are delighted to be able to facilitate an orderly transfer which will ensure continuity of supply for both SHL/PreVisor and PRD's own clients.”

GMA stands for Graduate and Managerial Assessment series and MOST for Modern Occupational Skills Tests, respectively written by Dr Blinkhorn in 1983 and 1988 and developed since by his company.
